Nickelodeon will be partnering with "Avatar co-creators Mike and Bryan to launch Avatar Studies with exclusive new content" which includes a new animated film.
Nickelodeon is launching a division to focus on making The Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise even bigger than before.
The original creators, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko will launch Avatar Studios to create new original content around the Peabody and Emmy Award winning animated series. The show which was brought back into mainstream conversation 10 years after it's premiere after it was made available on Netlflix for streaming last year.
Avatar Studios will produce content for platforms including Paramount+ and Nickelodeon as well as third-party platforms and theatrical releases. The first project is an animated theatrical film that is set to start production later this year.
