While the entire internet is being reminded that Angela Bassett did the thing, here's her doing it once again!
Angela took home all three awards that she was nominated for, including the biggest award, which was for Entertainer of the Year. She also won Best Supporting Actress for Wakanda Forever and Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for 9-1-1. During her speech, Angela referenced the iconic line from Ariana DeBose's memorable BAFTA opening, saying"I guess Angela Bassett did the thing!"
The 54th Annual NAACP Image Awards hosted a star-studded ceremony, with powerhouses like Serena Williams and Gabrielle Union in attendance. The NAACP Image Awards honored the new category winners, as well as the industry powerhouses. Presenters such as Zendaya and Queen Latifah announced the winners. Nominees were also honored for their tremendous contributions to Black excellence over the years.
