While the characters from the original Gossip Girl series won't be back (that we know of yet), they've left us with some valuable words that are sure to get us prepared for what the new generations Upper East Side elites have to bring.
Let's take a stroll down the New York memory lane.
10. "As much as a BFF can make you go WTF, there's no denying we'd be a little less rich without them." - Gossip Girl
Even Gossip Girl knows how important your best friend is, and even though Blair and Serena spent half the time at each other's throats, they also had each other's backs. An important lesson for the new students of Constance Billard, who will need their friends for what Gossip Girl throws their way.
9. "People like me don't write books. We're written about."- Chuck Bass
I don't know if there can ever be another Chuck Bass (I doubt it), but his confidence is something the new kids should take note of. While some of the students will be fighting to stay away from Gossip Girl, you can guarantee there will be plenty trying to get her to notice them, and she doesn't pay attention to just any Upper Eastsider.
8. "I'm not a stop along the way. I'm a destination" - Blair Waldorf
Judging by the reboot's first trailer, it looks like the new girl at Constance Billard, and the already established Queen B will be put at odds over a boy. Here's hoping they both remember no boy is worth fighting another woman over and Blair is here to remind them.
7. "Some might call this a fustercluck. But on the Upper East Side, we call it Sunday afternoon." - Gossip Girl
A show about students in high school might seem a bit boring, but students on the Upper East Side are no ordinary students and while you might want to write this off as a teen drama, let this remind you that these teens will not be coming home at 2 like we were.
6. "Have a little faith, and if that doesn't work, a lot of mimosas." - Blair Waldorf
A new article revealed that the new Gossip Girl reboot might deal with wealth a lot different than the original series, and fans were not excited to hear that. But to them, I say to remember this quote and have a little faith...and if you need a drink to calm your nerves, then that's fine too.
5. "Gossip Girl here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite." - Gossip Girl
Gossip Girl only deals with scandals which means this won't be your average rumor mill of who kissed who. The original series dealt with everything from cheating, backstabbing to drugs and murder. Be prepared for scandals that even Olivia Pope wouldn't want to come near.
4. "I always thought you were too good to blog." - Blair Waldorf
When Blair told this to Serena, who knew it would be Gossip Girl who took it to heart. In the reboot, Gossip Girl has ditched blogging and now updates her followers on the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite the way we all get out news on Instagram.
3. "You are no one until you're talked about." - Dan Humphrey
Technically this could also be labeled a Gossip Girl quote since (10-year spoiler alert!) Dan was revealed to be GG. But he was right. In this world, if you never graced Gossip Girl, sure your secrets may be safe, or maybe no one even cares enough about what your secrets are. It sounds ridiculous, but you'd be surprised what that kind of thing makes people do to be seen, and I'm sure we'll see lots of it when the reboot premieres.
2. "Not everyone wants to be Blair Waldorf" - Serena Van Der Woodsen
Blair and Serena left quite the legacy at Constance Billard School for Girls. While I hope the new generation tries just to be themselves, I wouldn't be surprised if one or two try to take a page out of the Waldorf handbook. Now, will they get Blair Waldorf results? That's something we'll have to find out.
1. "You Know You Love Me. XOXO, Gossip Girl." - Gossip Girl
Not only will fans of the original get to hear this iconic line again, but Kirsten Bell is returning as the voice of Gossip Girl. So while we may be seeing new faces, it'll still be the same voice we love.
The new series is set to premiere on July 8th on HBO Max. Sign up for HBO Max here and start streaming the original series now to prepare.
